The "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drive was a huge success, thanks to all who participated. Orange Grove collected over 120 pairs of shoes, 25 pairs of socks and 18 pairs of shoestrings. Because of your efforts, over 120 orphan's around the world will be blessed. Buckner International (distributer of the shoes to the orphans) has been working to improve the lives of at-risk and orphan children since 1879.
I delivered the shoes, socks and shoestrings yesterday to WBMB, and they expressed their appreciation for OGC's compassion for the orphans. Yesterday afternoon, 3 more pair of shoes were delivered to my office. This morning, I have received 8 more pair, for a total of 11 more pairs of shoes.
Although yesterday was the offical drop off day, we can still deliver the shoes, socks and shoestrings until Tuesday of next week, the last day for the drive. If you haven't donated, but would like to do so, please bring them to me in the PT department, and I'll drop them off.
As of yesterday, WMBW had collected from the Chattanooga area, over 7,400 pairs of shoes, 22,000 pairs of socks and countless pairs of shoestrings.
THIS IS FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much!
