Community Supports reaches out to community businesses and employers as we seek to offer meaningful work opportunities to the adults we serve. Employers use our workforce by sending work to Orange Grove to be completed, by allowing us to send workers to a business site to perform work, or by hiring our individuals. Given the wide range of our abilities and our flexibility to meet the needs of businesses, we can build a worthwhile, mutually beneficial relationship with almost every company.
Community Supports includes the Industrial Training Center, which serves 161 clients, the Recycling Center which serves 60 clients, and Community Supports, which serves 173 clients. These 394 individuals receive full-time and part-time support in a variety of vocational settings which include: job readiness training, work adjustment training, trial work experiences, workshop job placements, enclave job placements, heavy equipment certification, and competitive job placements. All vocational services are designed to help each person gain the self-reliance they desire.
Long-term follow along services help ensure each individual is successful in their job placement. In addition to vocational opportunities, Community Supports serves people in community participation activities which include: volunteering, exploring work opportunities for the future, and retirement activities. This division also provides personal assistance services which offer one-on-one support to individuals after hours and on weekends in the community and/or their home environments.
