Orange Grove Center is unique among community agencies in that a full service Medical Department is available on site for clients. Established in 1991, the Augustus McCravey Health Care Department provides quality medical and dental services. This multidisciplinary department includes a full-time MD, nurse practitioner, RNS, two dentists, and LPNs.
Other services provided from this department include health related education, pre-employment physicals, medical
 laboratory procedures, as well as first aid. Health Care Services provides clinical rotation experience for local MD residency programs. Nursing programs from UTC, Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, and Lee University also rotate through the various clinical areas. In addition dental hygienist students receive on-site experience in the dental clinic.
Beginning the fall of 2002, nurse practitioner students will also use the clinic as part of their educational program. The health care services provided at OGC has earned recognition in the community as a whole. Individuals with the diagnosis of MR/DD are being referred for medical and dental care by local physicians and outside agencies.
