Special Olympics State Summer Games

On May 16, Brandy Beeson and Teresa Jenkins took eight athletes to Nashville for the Special Olympic State Summer Games.  Holly Castle, Kim Smith, John Strang and Buddy Benton competed in the Aquatic Competition.  Billy Linder, Diana Linder, Jeff Knight and Jason Pryor competed in Track and Field.  We had lots of fun, and represented Orange Grove well.  Here are the results:

In the Aquatics Competition:

Kim Smith placed 2^nd in the 50M freestyle and 4^th in the 25M freestyle.

John Strang placed 4^th in the 50M freestyle and 5^th in the 25M freestyle.

Holly Castle placed 1^st in the 25M freestyle and 2^nd in the 25M backstroke.

Buddy Benton placed 1^st in the 25M freestyle and 2^nd in the 50M freestyle.

In the Track and Field Competition:

Diana Linder placed 1^st in the Softball Throw and 2^nd in the 100M Walk.

Jeff Knight placed 2^nd in the Standing Long Jump and 3^rd in the 50M Dash.

Billy Linder placed 2^nd in the 200M Dash and 3^rd in the 100M Dash.

Jason Pryor placed 3^rd in the Softball throw and 3^rd in the 200M Dash.
