This year, 13 athletes competed in the track and field and aquatics competitions at the 2010 State Summer Games in Nashville, TN. We had four athletes competing in the aquatics competition, and these are the results:
Deta A. placed 2nd in the 50-meter freestyle, and 3rd in the 25-meter backstroke.
Jason P. placed 1st in the 50-meter freestyle, and 3rd in the 25-meter backstroke.
Holly C. placed 2nd in the 25-meter freestyle, and 3rd in 25-meter backstroke.
Bradlee C. placed 3rd in both the 25-meter and the 50-meter freestyle.
Eight athletes took part in the newly formed Orange Grove Volleyball Team, and came in third place. They are: Ricky V., Carlene Melton, Marcus Thomas, James Long, Jon Holloway, Keith Kirby, Mike Duke and Bobby Thomas.
Billy L. is the only athlete to compete in the track and field competition. He brought home one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal. His competition may serve as practice for the National Special Olympic 2010 Games, July 17-24.
