"Lose the Training Wheels" creates life-changing opportunities

"Lose the Training Wheels" is a bike-riding program created by parents of children with disabilities.  The program was designed to give each participant opportunities toward life changing experiences as a result of their training.

Organizers set up shop at McCallie School, bringing with them everything needed to run the camp.  Christopher Lawson, Joe'l Green, Leitron Ellison, Donavian Snyder, Alexes Jackson and Jasmine Strickland, all Orange Grove students, were participants.

To date, three of the six are riding two wheel bicycles without assistance.  The bicycles, meanwhile, will remain at Orange Grove for some time, and staff will continue working with the students on their bike-riding skills.

After successful completion of this year’s camp, there are also talks of making it an annual event.
