Founders' Day 2013

The annual Founders' Day celebration was held at the Historic Chattanooga Choo Choo's Imperial Ballroom, with a near capacity-filled room with staff, board members, volunteers, individuals and supporters at both the luncheon and dinner.  The theme was "Legendary History/Bright Future."

Members of the first class, Carolyn Galloway, Deborah McCullough, Brenda Lackey, Jim Blevins, Harriet Delaschmitt, and Linda Rogers, and siblings, Doug and Janice Arnold were in attendance, as part of the 60th anniversary celebration.   They were recognized by Tom Caldwell, long-time OGC board member/advocate since its founding in 1953.  Caldwell was also awarded for his 60 years.

Morton J. Kent was named Board Member of the Year.  A video highlighted his 50 years on the board.  State Senator Bo Watson presented Martin Campbell the "Person of the Year" Award.

A total of 97 Service Awards (5 to 60 years), and 44 Clarence Johnson Awards (5 with 5 consecutive years of perfect attendance) and were presented.  New awards included the Personal Assistant, John Dunn and Roberta Smith Awards and United Way Service Recognition.

A big thank you to the Nanci Harris Estate for contributing to both events.
